Studio Owner Spotlight: Nora Yi
Nora Yi, owner of barre3 Livingston in New Jersey, is a glass-is-always-half-full kind of person. She’s a busy mom of two girls, ages 3 and 5, a supportive wife, and a business owner—and she’s loving every minute of it. We’re so lucky to have her as part of our network of studios. Read on to hear from Nora herself and get a glimpse into her life.
I love that barre3 caters towards every type of person. It’s a workout that you can truly make your own. When I first visited the Portland studios, the positive energy flowed from Sadie and the Portland team. It made me thirsty for more!
My clients are a huge source of inspiration for me. We have this amazing, supportive community. They are my barre3 family. One woman recently told me barre3 has transformed not only her body, but her life. Ditto!
Barre3 has helped me find balance. One of the first things Sadie told me was “Family is a priority.” I enjoy every moment I have with my two daughters and my husband. I love that I can bring my girls with me to the studio in the evenings and on weekends. They have so much fun in child care.
During the holidays, I focus on keeping a strong routine for my family and me regardless of how crazy it gets. If I can’t make it to the studio, I do online and app workouts. I enjoy all holiday food, but I eat everything in moderation.
My daughters and I love to cook together. We make smoothies every morning. They love the Dark Chocolate Donut Holes and the barre3 bars, too.
My guilty pleasures are bacon, and—are you ready for this?—HGTV. Literally every program on that channel is so addictive! I tune in after my husband has fallen asleep.
My most memorable trip was climbing Mt Fuji with my closest friend and big brother. It was one of the most excruciating journeys ever – a true test of my patience and determination. I have come to realize that sometimes the best journeys are the most challenging.
I love to explore and try new things. I ride the train into New York City whenever I can to try all types of fitness classes including spinning, yoga, and Pilates. I recently took a class called Plyo Air Glides. I bounced around Midtown wearing rebound sport shoes. It was kind of amazing!
At barre3, we’ll help you build strength and get an amazing body, but we do more than that. Our community will support you and fuel you with positive energy so that you feel balanced and confident when you leave the studio.
