Welcome to October. We’re celebrating the shift in season by breaking out our favorite fall sweaters, cozying up with our warm beverages of choice and turning up the volume on this month’s playlist.
Barre3 Producer and Instructor Trainer, Andrew Ash, is bringing you a curated mix of the songs that are keeping us grounded in our workouts and energized throughout our day. Brew a cup of tea and listen to the playlist on Spotify here. You can also check out the featured artists below to learn more about why Andrew selected the songs in this month’s mix!
Maroon 5 – Wait – Chromeo Remix
Chromeo is a Montreal-based electro-funk duo. The group’s remixes always add a lot of personality and fun to barre3 playlists. When they aren’t doing incredible remixes of popular songs (like Maroon 5’s “Wait”), Chromeo is creating their own music. Give their latest album Quarantine Casanova a listen—and see why we love their music so much.

Oliver Heldens and Shungudzo – Fire In My Soul – Tom Staar Remix
Shungudzo is a Zimbabwean-American singer, songwriter, and record producer. While she’s a newer artist to our playlists, she’s been making strides in not only music, but gymnastics, journalism, and philanthropy for years. She was the first black female artistic gymnast to represent Zimbabwe at the 1999 All-Africa Games in Johannesburg and co-founded the Kijana Project, an organization providing relief for AIDS orphans.

Stace Cadet, KLP – Energy
When the bass drops in Stace Cadet’s song “Energy,” you won’t be able to keep yourself from dancing. The Melbourne-based record producer’s music is aptly-named, with energy pulsating through all of his songs. Be sure you’ve got room to move before pressing play!

Calvin Harris – Giant (with Rag’n’Bone Man) – Purple Disco Machine Remix
Rag’n’Bone Man’s soulful style fits perfectly on this throwback remix of Calvin Harris’ “Giant.” Though Rag’n’Bone Man isn’t yet a household name in the States, the UK artist won two Brit Awards (the UK equivalent of the Grammy’s) in 2017. We’re excited to feature his smooth, buttery vocals on this month’s playlist!

Sonny Fodera and Scrufizzer – Creeper
Sonny Fodera has been a staple of many barre3 playlists since we discovered his song “Roll With Me” back in 2017. If barre3 had a specific sound, Sonny’s laid-back house music would help define it. With an energizing beat to support instructors’ cues, his songs help get your heart rate pumping in any barre3 workout.

“Creeper” isn’t our first introduction to Scrufizzer whose talents as a rapper and lyricist are undeniable. After we took a deep-dive into his music, we quickly fell in love with his catchy lyrics, down and dirty beats, and of course, his British accent.
