We love May because we get to celebrate mamas all month long (yes, we’ve turned Mother’s Day into Mother’s Month)—but also because it gives us a chance to talk about a partnership that’s very close to our hearts: barre3 x Every Mother Counts.
Started by Christy Turlington after she had a harrowing birth experience herself, Every Mother Counts (EMC) is dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for everyone, everywhere—a massive undertaking, as the statistics around pregnancy and childbirth globally are staggering. Every year, more than 303,000 women die from complications related to pregnancy and childbirth (that’s one woman every two minutes). But there’s hope: Of these deaths, up to 99% are preventable with the right pre- and postnatal care.
For the past 10 years, EMC has made huge strides to bring medical care to women in need, including providing transportation to hospitals, education around pregnancy and childbirth, and supplies. This year, we are so honored to help contribute to the cause. Through May 31st, 20% of all proceeds of new studio memberships, new online subscriptions, and proceeds of the barre3 X EMC retail collection will go directly to EMC. With your help, we could donate up to $10,000 to this important cause.
