We love a Valentine’s treat as much as anyone, but we’ve never been crazy about the ubiquitous boxes of cloyingly sweet chocolates. Instead, we prefer to whip up recipes that satisfy our sweet tooth and nourish us and our loved ones. Here are three of our favorite ways to spread the Valentine’s love (bonus: all three recipes are super simple)!
Chocolate Truffles
Indulge in the flavors of Nutella minus the guilt with these good-for-you bites of bliss. Each truffle is packed with both protein and fiber and is sweetened with only dates, so you can cure a craving for sweets without sending your blood sugar levels into chaos.

With fat, fiber, protein, and naturally sweet flavor, these no-bake bars are a perfect snack to enjoy on Valentine’s Day. Add a handful of dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs and use fun cookie cutters to make them extra-special.

Start the day on a balanced note and get the chocolatey flavor you crave with this nutrient-packed smoothie. Make a double batch, add a sprinkle of cocoa powder on top, and share a little love with your family before heading out the door.
