BUFFALO, NY-BASED BARRE CENTRIC’S THREE STUDIOS TO BECOME BARRE3
Today we are excited to announce that Barre Centric’s three studios in Buffalo, NY will become barre3, bringing our fleetwide total to 197 locations.
Barre Centric’s co-founders Giavana De Zitter and Rachael Jarosz, both former dancers, started the company in 2012 after searching in vain for a fun, effective workout that they looked forward to. Together, they leveraged their dance and fitness industry knowledge and expertise to launch Western New York’s first barre fitness studio, eventually expanding their business to three locations. Together, they have taught over 10,000 barre classes and trained many instructors along the way.
Twelve years in, Gia and Rachael found themselves eager to grow their business and were inspired by the news of The Barre Code’s conversion to barre3. After immersing themselves in barre3, they discovered the alignment between the two companies, notably in the shared desire to offer effective workouts in inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome.
Rachael had experienced barre3 for the first time a decade prior. “I first found barre3 with my college friend who was a member at the barre3 Columbus studio back in 2014. After my first class I felt lighter, and I loved how the class combined the mind-body connection of a yoga class with the strength and muscular endurance of a barre class,” she noted. “As a barre3 studio owner, I am most excited about collaborating and crowdsourcing with other studio owners.”
While barre3 was new to Gia, she quickly saw that Barre Centric would benefit from the infrastructure and support of the barre3 franchise system. “I found barre3 nearly a year ago. The opportunity to convert our brand to barre3 presented itself and the conversations about it started to flow easily, becoming really enticing at this point of our careers and as moms of three kids each, running three studios on our own,” she said. “We quickly were ready to dive in and see if barre3 aligned with our locally owned and operated brand and community, and it sure does! As a barre3 studio owner, I am excited to continue my fitness education and be a part of a large, empowering community.”
Over the coming months, the Barre Centric studios will transition into barre3 studios with upgrades to all three locations, updated class formats, comprehensive instructor training, and more.
“I am thrilled to welcome Gia and Rachael to our network of owners,” said Sadie Lincoln, co-founder and CEO of barre3. “What they accomplished together with Barre Centric is admirable, and I look forward to the leadership and insight they will bring to barre3. We’re so excited they are becoming barre3 and are joining us in our vision to redefine what success in fitness means.”
