Instructor Spotlight: Candace Ofcacek
Meet Lead Instructor Candace Ofcacek. Many of you may recognize her from her killer ballet inspired online workouts and dvds. She’s notorious for designing graceful workouts that lift, lengthen, and balance your body. We are so lucky to have her as part of the team! Read below for more on Candace.
Proudest Moment: When I’ve made life decisions by always staying true to who I am through movement, dance, and teaching.
Biggest challenge: I can be too hard on myself sometimes.
Perfect day: Starting my day with an early morning barre3 class, followed by catching up with clients after class. Grabbing a green juice and taking my gigantic puppy for a hike in Forest Park! Visiting with friends. Head home for some gardening in the late afternoon. Finish the day by making a healthy dinner. While its cooking I might fit in Viva’s 10 minute yoga stretch on barre3.com in my kitchen. Glass of red wine, bit of dark chocolate, and some reading before bed.
Power song: Florence & the Machine “Shake it Out”
My motto: Take care of your body and it will take care of you.
Indulgence: Maca Madness smoothie from SIP (almond milk, dates, frozen banana, maca)
I’m dreaming of: My next visit to see my dear friend on Molokai.
My Hero: My mom. She has a huge heart and does everything with balance and grace. In her sixties, she decided to make her health a priority. She now runs, walks, practices yoga, Pilates, hula-hooping, and barre3!
My go-to blog: afarmerinthedell.com I live on an old farm and Andrea is my inspiration! I’ve discovered some of my go-to recipes here. Butternut squash and black bean burritos, yes please!
Obsessed with: Local company, MOX Botanicals. LOVE their lip butter!
My best family vacation: My mom and dad packing up all four kids into the old van and taking a cross-country camping trip. Nothing fancy, but the best memories with my brothers!
I do barre3 so I can: Stand taller, dance longer, and continue to learn through my body and clients’ bodies.
My morning drink of choice: Green tea latte
Favorite barre3 move: Incline core-scoops
I heart working at barre3 because: It’s my dream job and brings me so much happiness. I’m able to combine my passions of learning, teaching, moving, and connecting all into one. Most importantly barre3 provides me with a balanced lifestyle. Everyday I am so grateful for the community I get to be a part of.
My current fitness goal is: Practice barre3 modifications to strengthen and rehab a knee injury.
The signature barre3 posture I am known for teaching is: Horse pose slides!
