barre3 at the Nike Training Club Tour
My team and I were so honored to partner with Nike for their Nike Training Club (NTC) global event on Saturday in Santa Monica, California. All afternoon, my Master Trainers and I taught classes to hundreds of participants. We were in good company—top trainers from NTC, Barry’s Bootcamp, and Flywheel also led super fun and effective workouts.
The event was an amazing all-day party complete with incredible DJs, super-athletes, dancers like Derek Hough from Dancing With the Stars, and more.
My heart skipped a beat when two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas walked in to take my class with her mom! I took the picture above for my daughter who, like millions of others, learned from Gabby to DREAM BIG. I had a great conversation with Gabby and her mom about the power of kids inspiring their parents to be fit.
Gabby is training for the 2016 Olympics, and I can’t wait to see what she does next. My kids and I will be rooting for her every step of the way!
How beautiful is this view? The weather was perfect! Nike built the NTC arena just steps from the beach, which was SUCH a welcome sight after our rainy Oregon winter. La Jolla instructor Krissy Engle, Amy Leclerc (VP of Sales + Marketing), and I soaked up every single second of sun!

This is why I love my job. I get to work alongside fabulous women like barre3 Master Trainers Kait Hurley and Candace Ofcacek. This was their warm up before teaching epic barre3 classes!

Over 1,200 participants kicked the day off with a mega-sized NTC class. It felt like a huge dance party instead of a workout.
Biggest Loser Season 15 contestant Tumi Oguntala took our class! She showed me her before and after picture and we both got a little teary. It struck me how heroic she is to share her story on the world stage. Thank you Tumi for coming to my class and for inspiring hundreds of thousands of people to get healthy, fit, and happy! Director of NYC Operations Meegan Gregg and I can’t wait to welcome you to the barre3 West Village later this spring!
When we told our classes that they got to keep the Nike Studio Wraps they were “testing” you would have thought they won the lottery! We love them too, and we’re now selling them at all barre3 studios.
One of the best parts of the weekend was spending quality time with my team including these two. A huge perk of being a studio owner is that you have a network of owners to support you. Laguna owner Nicki Insley and Corvallis owner Robin Jones are there for each other every step of the way.
On Sunday, my team and I had the opportunity to connect with VIP NTC participants from around the globe. We had so much fun getting to know these inspiring women. I wish we had more time together!
I’ve looked up to the Nike brand my entire life, and it was amazing to spend a weekend with the Women’s Training crew, top trainers from around the country, an Olympic Gold Medalist, and my supportive team. I’m still on a high after a jam-packed weekend of fun. My fingers are crossed that Nike decides to do this every year.
