Leading the Way in Women’s Fitness: A Conversation With barre3 Co-Founder & CEO Sadie Lincoln
At barre3, we believe our mindful approach to fitness has the power to transform lives. And at the heart of our mission is a commitment to honoring every individual’s unique path to strength, confidence, and well-being. This vision was at the core of our recent conversation with barre3 co-founder and CEO, Sadie Lincoln, in Leading the Way in Women’s Fitness, a special event where she shared her personal journey and bold vision for the future of barre3.
For Sadie, movement has always been about more than just fitness—it’s about belonging. She shared candidly about her own struggles with body image, reflecting on a time when she believed success was tied to looking the part. “It was a symptom of society being unwell, telling me—as a young woman, as a young achiever—that I had to look a certain way to belong,” she shared. “And even though I got to my goal weight, I was not okay. It was not the answer.” Over time, she realized the problem wasn’t her—it was the narrow, flawed definition of fitness itself. As she often says, you’re not failing fitness, fitness is failing you.
That pivotal realization led her to redefine what it meant to move, not for appearance, but for presence. When she became pregnant with her daughter Aubrey, Sadie exercised not to control her body, but to care for it. “I started to move in a way that honored my body,” she said. And from that intention, barre3 was born.
A New Way Forward for Fitness
Sadie’s story is personal, but it speaks to a larger cultural shift. For too long, the dominant fitness narrative has been centered around external goals—fitting into a certain size, achieving an idealized version of strength, measuring progress by numbers alone. But at barre3, we know there’s a different, more powerful way forward. One that prioritizes how we feel over how we look. One that builds confidence from the inside out.
This is the vision we’re bringing to life every day in our studios. And it’s why now, more than ever, is the perfect time to be part of barre3’s growth. As a values-driven brand, we are committed to supporting our franchisees with the same care and intention we bring to our clients. When you open a barre3 studio, you’re not just investing in a business—you’re joining a movement that’s reshaping the industry and creating a space where people can move, connect, and thrive.
The Power of Community
From the very beginning, barre3 has been built on the idea that we’re stronger together. Growing up in a collective of women, Sadie learned firsthand the power of partnership and shared purpose. That belief has carried through to the way we support our franchisees today.
“Our support is unparalleled,” Sadie shared. “Let’s not be lonely—let’s partner with other people who get us and who want to solve this problem together.”
At barre3, our franchisees receive best-in-class training, resources, and ongoing mentorship. But more than that, they become part of a community of like-minded entrepreneurs who are passionate about redefining fitness. Whether it’s through our dedicated Franchise Expansion Team, our robust operational support, or the deep connections formed among studio owners, we are here to lift each other up—just as we do in every class we teach.
Why Now Is the Time
As barre3 continues to grow, expanding beyond our 200+ studios, we are looking for leaders who share our vision—entrepreneurs who are ready to make an impact in their communities, challenge outdated fitness norms, and build something meaningful. If you’re someone who believes in movement as a tool for empowerment, in fostering belonging through leadership, and in the power of a supportive, purpose-driven business, now is your moment.
Because when we move together, we rise together. And that’s the future of fitness we’re building—one studio, one class, one connection at a time.
