Your barre3 Questions, Answered: Round 4
If there’s one thing we love, it’s receiving your questions about the barre3 class. And if there’s something we love even more, it’s answering them! We checked in with VP of Research and Development Lisa Schale-Drake to get the answers to your most pressing barre3 questions.
Q: I haven’t been able to go to a barre3 studio or my gym for months! If I do barre3 a few times a week, can that “count” as my main (only) form of exercise?
A: Of course! Barre3 is designed to give you a full-body, balanced workout regardless of where you practice. While we all miss the amazing energy of an in-studio class, your at-home practice will continue to support your goals. And if you choose to include other types of movement in your routine, like hiking, biking, or running, barre3 will help support these activities through our combined focus on strength conditioning, cardio, and mindfulness.
Q: Why are your studio classes a full hour and your online classes are everywhere from 10 minutes to an hour?
A: Good question. The 60-minute class is our signature format. Some studios also offer a 45- and/or 30-minute class format. If this is something you are interested in seeing at your local studio, you can always connect with your studio team to discuss if these are class options that can be made available.
Our online platform offers a variety of class times because we want to support and work with your busy lifestyle. Whether you have 10 minutes or a full hour available to you, barre3 wants to ensure that you take time to focus on you. The good news is that both options are available to you. We have many studio clients who also participate in barre3 through our online platform when they are unable to make it to a studio class.
Q: Why do you include breathwork in the 30-minute videos?
A: Breathwork is a powerful way to end a workout. Not only does it give your body a moment to process all the hard work it has done, but it also gives you a brief moment to embrace stillness. This moment is just as powerful as any other posture for your mind and body. Our lifestyles are fast-paced, and it isn’t always easy to be still. However, many clients have said that breathwork has helped them feel calmer and more focused post-workout. We highly recommend giving breathwork a try—and you can learn even more about the benefits of breathwork here!
Q: What devices do you support for streaming?
A: Barre3 workouts can be streamed on any smartphone, tablet, or desktop device. You can download the barre3 app on Samsung TVs and stream your online workouts directly on your television. You can also Airplay from an Apple device to your Apple TV or use Google Chromecast. Stay tuned as we add more devices and streaming options!
Q: I know my studio has discounts for students, teachers, and people in the military. Do you have a similar offer for barre3 online?
A: We offer student discounts via Unidays, as well as discounts through other corporate partnerships. If you work with a company or organization, we recommend reaching out to your HR department to see if they have a partnership with barre3 or Gympass. If you have a specific question about our subscription pricing or have any extenuating circumstances, please contact us at onlinesupport@barre3.com.
