SHARE YOUR PRESENT TRUTH AND ENTER TO WIN!
The New Year’s fitness challenges are rolling in and our social media feeds and inboxes are being inundated with messaging that promotes a single, unrealistic ideal and positioning exercise as the magic pill to get you there.
We’re taking a different approach. The barre3 January Challenge is all about challenging these traditional measures of success and tapping into our internal truths. How are we doing that? By honoring our bodies in the present moment.
This is where your Present Truth comes in. When you share your Present Truth on Instagram, you’ll be entered to win prizes from Beyond Yoga, Handful Bra, Berlin Skincare, and Baleen Jewelry, plus a 6-month subscription to barre3 online workouts or 1 month of unlimited classes at your local barre3 studio.
How to enter: Post a photo or video in your Instagram feed and caption it with your Present Truth using the hashtags #MyPresentTruth #barre3.
And here’s some inspiration from the barre3 Home Office to help you connect with your Present Truth:
Appreciate & Enjoy
“During the holidays, I’ve noticed that I tend to get too excited about them and over-plan, accept too many invitations, and get overwhelmed. This year, I’m going to make a big effort to stop every once in a while, slow down, appreciate, and enjoy.”
Beth Collins, Editorial Director
Honor My Energy
“In the cold winter months, I tend to lose a lot of motivation, especially to work out. This year, rather than feeling guilty and overwhelmed by not participating in events, I’m just going to enjoy being present and staying in-tune with what I need.”
Laura Bowers, Email Marketing Manager
Let Go Of The Past And Future
“Lately I’ve been feeling the pressure of identity and of labels. I am worthy, I am valuable. I am…something. I love the freedom that ‘I am’ brings. It allows me to be whatever I am in that moment without having to succumb to social norms, pressures, or more importantly, the internal pressures I put on myself. Our culture is obsessed with productivity, value, and worth, but what if it was okay to just be and not feel like I have to be any of those things or anything in particular? What if my identity cannot be captured with words? And what if I’m free to be exactly who I am regardless of the past or the future?”
Peter Bova, Operations Analyst
Embrace Fear
“This morning I taught my last barre3 class and I am overwhelmed with emotions. Grateful, sad, relieved, and anxious are just a few to name. For four years, being a barre3 instructor has been so much of my identity. From the community that has supported me to the leaps and bounds that I’ve grown as an individual, I am so grateful to everyone who has been a part of that journey and everything that I’ve learned. Now, I’m learning who I am without that title. It’s scary, but I’m okay with that. I won’t shy away from that fear or chaos but learn to embrace and manage it.”
Lisa Creatura, Training & Operations Manager
Rewrite My Story
“As an enneagram Type 4, I’m characterized as creative, sensitive, expressive and withdrawn. My basic fear is that I am without identity and absent of any personal significance. I’ve always harbored a belief that everyone has it all figured out but me, that I have this deep, fundamental lack that somehow everyone else is able to fill. I’ve always felt deeply connected to my emotions and equated myself to my feelings. But now, I’m choosing to see the truth: That I am not my feelings, nor am I my thoughts. My emotions can inform how I am at this particular moment, but they do not define me as a whole. I’m choosing to re-write my story, and that’s #mypresenttruth.”
Isabelle Eyman, Social Media & Content Coordinator
Focus On The Process
“Focusing more on the process within my artwork instead of the final product. This means opening up new possibilities for new explorations, trying new things, and not being so worried by the end result.”
Jacky Boehm, Graphic Designer
