EMPOWERED WOMEN WE LOVE: SADIE + AUDREY LINCOLN
When barre3 CEO and Co-founder Sadie Lincoln created barre3, her then 4-year-old daughter, Audrey, was one of her main motivations. “My dream was to raise a daughter into a world where she was at home and safe in her body,” Sadie explains.
Audrey grew up with barre3, immersed in a culture where strong, empowered women are the norm and living your truth is celebrated. And it wasn’t just in the studio. At home, Sadie made it a point to encourage Audrey to be herself in every aspect of her life—even when her choices were puzzling. “I used to put together some really weird outfits,” Audrey remembers. “And my mom would always let me just be creative with it, no matter how bizarre. It’s a small thing, but it just shows how she supported me in every way.”
Now 14, Audrey is strong, courageous, and very much her own person. “Watching my mom and being raised by empowered women has helped me become a more confident person and stay true to myself,” she says. “If I didn’t have that, I wouldn’t be who I am today.”
The takeaway? When you’re empowered from within, you help others become empowered from within, too—a chain reaction that has the potential to truly change the world.
