Make Your Own: Light Moisturizing Face and Body Oil
This recipe is from the book Skin Cleanse: The simple, all-natural program for clean, calm, happy skin, by skincare expert Adina Grigore, founder of S.W. Basics.
½ cup grapeseed oil
¼ cup pumpkin-seed oil
1 Tbsp. flaxseed oil
Pour the oils into a regular (or pump) bottle and shake well. Pour or pump a little out and apply with your hands. Keep this sealed in the fridge for up to one month—just remember to warm it up in your hands before you apply! This recipe should make enough oil for you to coat your body three times a day for a month.
Its benefits: Grapeseed oil is light and soaks into the skin very easily. It’s also slightly astringent, so it acts as a toner as well. Pumpkin-seed oil is not only hydrating, but it is also full of vitamins and minerals. It reduces fine lines and stops moisture from leaving your skin, too. Flaxseed oil is amazing for eczema and psoriasis because it is a strong anti-inflammatory. It also has the highest ratio of omega-3s to omega-6s of any oil, so it will strengthen your skin and help it look younger.
