COCONUT MASK
From Danielle Conte of Conscious Coconut
Ingredients:
2 Tbs. of Conscious Coconut Oil
1 Tbs. of grated or ground organic Turmeric
Juice of half organic lemon (or 4-5 drops of chamomile essential oil if you have sensitive skin)
Directions:
Mix all parts in a bowl and stir until evenly yellow. The combination of these ingredients work for dry, combo, and oily skin types. For sensitive skin, skip the lemon and replace it with chamomile essential oil.
Apply evenly on freshly cleansed skin and leave on for 10-25 minutes.
Benefits:
The blend of Lauric acid from the coconut oil and lemon juice gently break down dead skin and debris. This will allow the antioxidant power of the turmeric to permeate deeply into the skin, healing all types of inflammation including acne and melasma. If you have sensitive skin, the optional chamomile oil will cool and soothe any irritation. You’re left with a gorgeous, glowing healthy complexion!
LEMON YOGURT HONEY MASK
From January Olds of January Labs
Ingredients:
2 T. raw honey
1 t. fresh lemon juice
2 T. plain full-fat yogurt
Thoroughly mix all the ingredients in a bowl until it’s the consistency of a whipped lotion. Simply apply and leave on for 10-15 minutes.
Benefits:
The citric acid in the lemon juice is great for brightening and exfoliation, while the lactic acid in the yogurt is fantastic for preventing pigmentation and acne. Honey has powerful antiviral and antibacterial properties, so it’s excellent for almost any skin issue.
AVOCADO MASK
from barre3
Ingredients:
1 ripe avocado
¼ t. apple cider vinegar
1 t. lemon juice
1 t. Spirulina powder (available at health food stores or online)
Directions:
Whip together all the ingredients and apply a thick layer to clean skin. Leave on for five minutes, then rinse.
Benefits:
The avocado is loaded with Vitamin E, antioxidants and natural oils to nourish your complexion, while the spirulina soothes damaged skin. Fair warning: the smell is a little intense, but totally worth it. When our social media manager Megan Krzmarzick tried this mask, she noticed the next day that her skin was definitely brighter!
