Inside Summit 2025: How barre3 Studio Owners Are Building the Future of Fitness
Every two years, the barre3 community comes together in Portland for Summit—a three-day gathering of studio owners, managers, and mentors (instructor trainers) designed to spark new ideas, deepen connection, and chart the path forward. More than an event, Summit is a space to step back, share wisdom, and reimagine what’s possible for our studios and the clients we serve.
For studio leaders, Summit is a rare pause. Running a studio is deeply rewarding, but it also demands focus and energy day after day. Stepping outside that rhythm gives owners the chance to reconnect with the bigger picture—to reflect on what’s working, learn new strategies, and return home reinspired, not just as business leaders but as members of a larger movement.

Reconnecting with Purpose
At its heart, the barre3 Summit is about remembering why we do this work. The classes, workshops, and conversations all point back to one truth: barre3 exists to change women’s lives. As Kate Potterfield, Studio Manager of barre3 DC 14th Street, shared, “Summit was pure magic and pure joy! My biggest takeaway was that we are part of something special with barre3—we have the opportunity to make a positive impact in our clients’ lives often, and especially, when they need us most.”
That reminder—that every class, every interaction, every studio has the power to meet people exactly where they are—is the foundation of studio ownership. And it’s often the spark that fuels owners through the challenges and wins of entrepreneurship.

Tools You Can Put to Work
Summit also goes beyond inspiration. Owners leave with practical tools to strengthen their studios and better serve their teams. Sessions range from class sequencing and messaging to client acquisition strategies and leadership development.
For Salina Navarro, owner of barre3 San Diego and barre3 Mission Hills, these learnings felt immediately applicable: “This year reminded me of the power of going back to the basics through spiraling education, and how important that is—not just for me, but for my entire team. One of my biggest takeaways is how I can show up as a stronger leader—creating more clarity, support, and growth opportunities so my team can better support our clients and each other.”
Salina’s words are proof that Summit doesn’t just fill your notebook with ideas—it equips you with concrete strategies you can bring back to your studio the very next day.

The Power of Collective Wisdom
Of course, some of the richest insights happen outside the sessions. Studio owners often say the chance to exchange stories, challenges, and wins with peers is just as valuable as the official programming. Brittany Morse, who owns barre3 Allentown and barre3 Bethlehem, described it this way: “My favorite part of Summit is learning from all of the other barre3 studio owners. There’s so much knowledge to be learned and inspiration to be shared. It’s a gift.”
That collective wisdom leaves studio owners not just inspired, but supported—knowing they’re building their businesses within a powerful community.

A Shared Mission
Every Summit also serves as a reminder of barre3’s larger mission: to redefine what success in fitness looks like. For studio owners, this means more than running a profitable business—it means creating spaces where strength, mindfulness, and a sense of belonging live side by side.
Kate captured it best when she said the real magic is knowing that owners “have the opportunity to make a positive impact in clients’ lives often, and especially when they need us most.” That ability to show up for clients—not just in their workouts, but in their lives—highlights the far-reaching impact of barre3.

Looking Ahead
Summit happens once every two years, but its impact reverberates far longer. Studio owners return home with sharpened tools, renewed inspiration, and the confidence that they are part of a network of leaders committed to evolving together.
It’s this blend of community and strategy, purpose and practicality, that makes Summit one of the most valuable parts of barre3 studio ownership. And it’s one of the many ways barre3 invests in its studio owners—because when our leaders thrive, our communities thrive.
