Meet our new non-profit partner, Every Mother Counts
Every mother deserves to be healthy and happy—that’s why we’re so proud to support Every Mother Counts. Founded by Christy Turlington Burns in 2010, this incredible non-profit is dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother around the world.
The need is great and the numbers prove it: According to the World Health Organization, one woman dies every two minutes from complications during pregnancy and childbirth. But it doesn’t have to be that way—in fact, 98% of these deaths are preventable. That’s where Every Mother Counts comes in.
Through this new partnership, we’ll be helping raise awareness and funds for EMC. Here’s how you can help:
Take a Class on Mama Mondays
The first Monday of every month, we’ll donate 100% of the proceeds from childcare that day to EMC.
Pick Up a “Welcome Back Mama” Package In Studio
We’ve created a special care package for new mothers that includes 3 months of studio classes, 3 months of barre3 Online, 10 sessions of childcare, an Every Mother Counts onesie, and a barre3 signature clutch. 10% of the proceeds will benefit EMC. Prices vary per location. Available in studio.

The funds we raise together will go to support the women that need it most. Every Mother Counts focuses their efforts on three critical barriers to maternal health around the world and at home: lack of education, transportation, and supplies.
Lack of Education
In developing countries, less than 50% of deliveries are supported by a skilled attendant. In places like Haiti, EMC is training new birth attendants, supporting a rural community clinic, and educating existing health providers in pregnancy, labor, and delivery care.
Transportation
More than 60% of people in low-income countries live more than 8 kilometers from the nearest health facility. In Uganda, EMC is providing transportation vouchers to pregnant women so they can get to a clinic to deliver safely and receive postnatal care.
Supplies
In many parts of the world, women must bring or pay for their birth supplies including gloves, a sterile barrier, soap and other basics. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, EMC is providing clinics with emergency obstetric care supplies, delivery, and postpartum beds.
We hope you’ll join us in supporting this amazing cause.
