I’m so excited to share my new book and DVD series: Love Your Lower Body. I teamed up with Prevention Magazine to develop this fun, effective 8-week program that’s flexible enough to fit into even the most hectic of schedules. Using my signature barre3 formula for success (including barre3 workouts, nourishing meals, and connecting with others for motivation), the program quickly transforms your body and tones those hard-to-reach trouble spots like your belly, hips, and thighs. You won’t just shed extra weight and inches, though—you’ll also reduce stress, gain energy and learn how to nourish your body with delicious whole foods. What’s not to love about that?
My book is filled with invigorating workouts, clean-eating tips, motivational tools, and more. Inside you’ll find a detailed fitness plan, a flexible and delicious nutrition program, plus tons of simple-to-prepare recipes. The DVD series brings the experience of the book to life as I show you step-by-step how to tone your entire body.
The weekly workout plan is based around the goal of accomplishing at least one 10-minute workout. If you have energy to keep going after 10 minutes, I offer up more 10-minute workouts to layer on. If 10 minutes is all you have time (and energy) for, you’ll still get great results (just ask the women who tested this program— they became big believers in the power of 10!).
THE MEAL PLAN
Each recipe in the book uses the barre3 Portion Rx of using only whole foods with a balance of protein, healthy fat and fiber. I don’t believe in deprivation—the recipes are satisfying, and I have something for every craving, from go-to desserts like my yummy strawberry shake to the most popular recipe among the test group, Chicken Tacos.
I know this program works because we tested it on 27 real women. Many had tried dozens of other diet and exercise programs and were close to giving up since nothing seemed to work. They were all very driven and successful in other areas of their lives—however, committing to working out and eating healthy meals seemed to be out of reach for them. (Sound familiar?)
I’m proud to report that all 27 women successfully completed the program. Everyone lost weight and inches, but the most impressive results were what we call “off the scale” victories. After eight weeks, many women reported that their preferences actually changed. Diet Coke didn’t taste good anymore. They reached for kale chips instead of potato chips. And they craved being active because it felt so good—even if just 10 minutes at a time. Most of them are now barre3 studio clients, too! These behavior shifts are what I’m most proud of.
